Database Selection for PowerSearch

  By default, ALL of the databases that you subscribe to will be searched in PowerSearch.
  If you want  the cross-search function to only apply to select databases, list the names
  of these databases in the box below.

 

Open Url  linking :
If you want to link back to your Open URL server from inside a Gale Database, we will need the following information.

Select the version of OpenURL your institution supports:

  Version 0.1     Version 1.0

Enter the address of the OpenURL server

Enter a name for the OpenURL server to be used as the link text

To apply a customized OpenURL icon, we need a url for the image location. To look their best, icons should be 20 pixels high.

Linking to Holdings :
If you want to link  to your library catalog from inside a Gale Database, we will need the following information.

Enter the library catalog search command URL [Do a catalog search on ISSN number].

Enter a name for this library catalog to be used as the link text

To apply a customized library catalog icon, we need a url for the image location. To look their best, icons should be 20 pixels high.

Interlibrary Loan Service

 
If you have an interlibrary loan service and you want to link to it  from inside a Gale Database, we will need the following information.

Enter the address of your Interlibrary Loan Service

Enter a name for this Interlibrary Loan Service to be used as the link text

To apply a customized Interlibrary Loan Service icon we need a url for the image location. To look their best, icons should be 20 pixels high.

Customer Links :

With PowerSearch you have the option of linking to other web locations. These links will show up in your PowerSearch interface in a drop down menu in the upper right hand corner. This is a convenient way for your patrons to link back to your home page, a Virtual Librarian web site, your Catalog or a community web site. Up to five links can be set up.
