Gale Database Registration Form

If you have already registered before, please do not register again.
This site is designed for Tennessee Libraries that have never registered.
If you registered, and never received your access letter, or want to change your account setup,
(add IP's, add/remove databases, change contact information) please call Technical Support at 1-800-877-4253 and choose option 4, or email them at technicalsupport@cengage.com.

After you complete this registeration form and submited it, you will receive two e-mail messages from Gale. The first will acknowledge the receipt of your registration and the second will contain your account information. The account information will contain a site-specific URL for access, statistical collection, and remote access purposes. Most registrations are complete within 48 hours.

Access information to IT Config will be included in your access email that is sent out by Gale once your account is created.

IT Config, is a Web-based tool you can use to customize
InfoTrac Web for your library. InfoTrac Config allows you to choose the
search strategies you want to make available to your staff and patrons, to
customize your databases and search hints, to print selected usage reports, and more.

Section 2 (optional) to set up access via IP address and/or Patron Barcode or Section 3 (optional).

Section 2: Advanced Registration

Note: Public K-12 Schools - This section is NOT mandatory.
Your IP's were already supplied to us by the state's Department of Education.


If you know your institution's IPs, please enter them below:
 (If using a firewall or proxy, indicate IP address broadcast to the Internet.
 If you are using static IP addressing for each workstation, list the IPs for each workstation, or the range used.)



If you do not know your public IP address(es) please use the link below to
do a look-up to find out what IP address(es) are being broadcast.
You will need to complete this process on each computer that will access the Gale databases.
If you are not sure about this process, please contact your Internet Service Provider(ISP) or
Network Administrator and ask them for your institution's public IPs.

If you do not have static IPs please leave the above field empty and you will be provided with a cookie password to access the Gale databases from within your institution.

Gale has the ability to allow users to log in remotely to the Gale databases using a library barcode. If your institution uses barcodes or patron IDs where the first several characters are similar and they are all the same number in length Gale can set up Remote Patron Authentication with this information.
Example barcodes: 53233123456789, 53233023432458, 53233875434901
Where the first 5 digits are the same and the total number of digits is 14 for all of your barcodes.

Once your registration or change request has been verified, it will be forwarded on to Gale for account creation or modification. Gale will create your account and / or modify your account and then notify you by email with the necessary information for you to start accessing your databases.
